AMANDLA started 10 years ago. Back then, we were a handful of volunteers running one project in Khayelitsha. Today, we are a growing team with global ambition.
At its core, AMANDLA has always been driven by one goal: to create space for young people to feel safe, have fun, and – most importantly – to develop and realise their potential.
For 10 years, we’ve created that space in different ways. Through programs and partnerships, advocacy and community engagement. Everything we do is collaborative.
The Safe-Hub has been our primary platform. It’s the real-life model of the world we want to create: a world where all young people have access to equal opportunities, strive to realise their full potential and dare to dream l. It’s our proudest achievement to date and what´s been developed in South Africa has become a globally-recognized model and brand: SAFE-HUB.
So much of our impact is the result of our ability to adapt. Together, we continually strive to learn more and do better. This innovative culture has helped us evolve. It’s attracted partners and created the unique teamAMANDLA spirit. It’s encouraged us to dream big.
We started AMANDLA to create the world we envision. We’re on our way with Safe-Hub. Over the next years, we want to broaden our scope and pursue new, game-changing business solutions that ultimately drive social progress for young people and ensure sustainability for our projects.
Every decision we make at AMANDLA is driven by ONE GOAL: to realise potential and change lives. Which is why we’re so excited to explore new ways to reach even more young people and change even more lives.
To mark this new direction for the AMANDLA and our brand, we are refining our logo. The new look and feel for the organisation is more modern, reflecting our outlook and our vision. But it’s also important that we stay connected to our roots: the 6 lines represent the values that guide everything we do. And most importantly, we’ll always be conntected to AMANDLA. AMANDLA means POWER and gives us the strength and energy to realise positive social change!
